On 15 August 1947, we got independence from the British. India’s first Prime Minister Chacha Nehru hoisted the Indian flag at the Red Fort in New Delhi. He also gave his famous speech that day. It was called “Tryst with Destiny”.

India became an independent nation on this day. Getting freedom was not easy. Many brave freedom fighters had died. He was martyred to liberate the country. We must remember their courage and struggle.

They fought bravely for 200 years. We should remember and honor them. Raise the flag and sing the national anthem. Do not keep the flag down. Don’t tear the flag. Freedom is very important so protect it. With this I conclude my speech.

Thank you and Happy Independence Day everyone!

Independence Day Speech 3 – Short Speech on 15th August

Respected; Principal, teachers, staff members and all my dear friends. On this day of national reverence, when we are celebrating the 77th Independence Day of the country, I extend a warm welcome to all of you.

I am honored to have got this opportunity to address all of you on such an important occasion and express my views.

As we all know that India got independence on 15 August 1947. It was on this day that the British left Indian soil by transferring legislative powers to the Indian Constituent Assembly. In other words, India was no longer to be ruled by foreign invaders, but by its own people. The Second Project

It was the happiest moment in the history of India as it came after almost two centuries of struggle and revolutions against the British sovereignty. This day reminds us of the valor and sacrifice of our fellow countrymen, who were the harbingers of the freedom struggle.

Let us celebrate this Independence Day by remembering the indomitable spirit of our freedom fighters and political mentors of those times. It is because of them that we are enjoying the benefits of freedom today.

Independence Day Speech 4th – Short Speech on 15th August

Best speech Independence day of India 2023
Respected Principal Sir, teachers, guests and my dear friends. It is an honor for me to address all of you today on our 77th Independence Day.

As we all know that we got independence on this fateful day in 1947, thanks to the freedom fighters and political visionaries of that time. He envisioned a free and united India and fought courageously against the British invaders to realize his dream.

Finally, on 15 August 1947, his dream came true; However, the country had to pay a heavy price for this. With the joy of independence came the sorrow of partition.

Independence celebrations were overshadowed by the creation of the Dominion of Pakistan on August 14, 1947, and the communal violence that followed.

When half of India was celebrating its independence, the other half was burning in the fire of communal riots. This was not something that our freedom fighters and political leaders could have imagined while fighting for independence.

Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Chandrashekhar Azad did not sacrifice their lives to see their fellow Indians slit each other’s throats on communal lines. He envisioned an India of communal, religious and cultural harmony.

It is impossible to change history, but we can always change the future and create new history. Independence Day was indeed one of the most important days in the history of India, but we should also remember those people who have sacrificed their lives for us to live this day. Also, we should not forget that any kind of demographic division on the basis of religion, caste or creed will only hinder our progress.

Let us end the speech with a pledge to remember those who lost their lives to uphold the sovereignty and equality of the nation and to give us freedom.

Jai Hind!!

Independence Day Speech Long Speech on 5th – 15th August

Good morning to all my respected teachers, parents and dear friends. Today we have gathered here to celebrate this great national event. As we all know that Independence Day is an auspicious occasion for all of us. India’s Independence Day is the most important day for all the Indian citizens and it has been mentioned in the history forever.

It is the day when we got freedom from the British rule after many years of hard struggle by the great freedom fighters of India. We celebrate Independence Day every year on 15th August to remember the first day of India’s independence and also remember all the sacrifices of the great leaders who have sacrificed their lives to get freedom to India.

On 15 August 1947, India got independence from the British rule. After independence we got all the fundamental rights in our own nation, our motherland. We all should feel proud to be an Indian and should appreciate our luck that we were born on the land of independent India. The history of slave India reveals everything that how our forefathers and forefathers had worked hard and endured all the cruel practices of the Britishers.

We cannot even imagine sitting here how difficult it was for India to get freedom from the British rule. It involved sacrifice of lives of many freedom fighters and a struggle of many decades from 1857 to 1947. An Indian soldier (Mangal Pandey) in the British Army first raised his voice against the British for India’s independence.

Best speech independence day 2023

Later many great freedom fighters fought and spent their whole life to get freedom. We can never forget the sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Khudi Ram Bose and Chandra Shekhar Azad who lost their lives fighting for their country at a young age. How can we ignore all the struggles of Netaji and Gandhiji. Gandhiji was a great Indian personality who taught Indians a great lesson of non-violence. He was the only person who got India freedom with the help of non-violence. Finally the result of long years of struggle came to the fore on 15 August 1947 when India got independence.

We are very fortunate that our forefathers have given us a land of peace and prosperity where we can sleep whole night without any fear and enjoy whole day in our school or home. Our country is developing very fast in technology, education, sports, finance and various other fields which was almost impossible before independence. India is one of the countries endowed with nuclear power. We are moving forward by actively participating in sports like Olympics, Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.

We have every right to choose our government and enjoy the world’s largest democracy. Yes, we are free and we have complete freedom but we should not consider ourselves free from our responsibilities towards our country. As responsible citizens of the country, we should always be ready to deal with any emergency situation in our country.

Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.

Best speech Independence day of India 2023

Hearty good morning to the respected teachers and my dear friends gathered here. Today we have gathered here to celebrate this auspicious occasion of 15th August, Independence Day. We celebrate this day every year with great enthusiasm and happiness because on this day in 1947 our country got independence from the British rule. We are here to celebrate the ninth anniversary of Independence Day. It is the great and most important day for all the Indians. The people of India suffered the brutal treatment of the British for many years.

It is because of years of struggle of our forefathers that today we have got freedom in almost all fields like education, sports, transport, business etc. Before 1947, people were not so free, even limited to having authority over their own body and mind. They were slaves of the British and were forced to follow all their orders. Today we are free to do anything because of those great Indian leaders who fought hard for many years to get freedom against British rule.

Independence Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over India. This day is very important for all the Indian citizens as it gives us an opportunity to remember all the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to give us a beautiful and peaceful life. Before independence people were not allowed to get education, eat healthy food and lead a normal life like us. We should be thankful to those events which were responsible for the freedom in India. Indians were treated worse than slaves by the British to carry out their redundant orders.

Some of the great freedom fighters of India are Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Lala Lajpat Ray, Bhagat Singh, Khudi Ram Bose and Chandra Shekhar Azad. He was a famous patriot who fought hard for the independence of India till the end of his life. We cannot even imagine the terrible moment our forefathers fought for.

Now after many years of independence, our country is on the right path of development. Today our country is an established democratic country in the whole world. Gandhiji was a great leader who taught us about effective methods of freedom like non-violence and satyagraha. Gandhiji dreamed of an independent India with non-violence and peace.

India is our motherland and we are its citizens. We should always be ready to save it from bad people. It is our responsibility to take our country forward and make it the best country in the world.

Very very good morning to the honorable chief guest of the day, respected teachers, parents and all my dear friends. I wish you all a very happy Independence Day. The reason behind such a huge gathering here is well-known. Excitement fills the air as we celebrate this great day in a wonderful way – the 77th Independence Day of our country.

Today, I have the wonderful opportunity to deliver a speech on Independence Day in front of all of you. I express my gratitude to my respected class teacher for granting me this platform to share my thoughts about India’s independence.

We celebrate Independence Day every year on 15th August because India got independence on the night of 14th August 1947. Just after India’s independence, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru gave a speech on Independence Day in New Delhi. While people all over the world were sleeping, people in India were waking up to get freedom and life from the British rule. Now after independence, India has become the largest democratic country in the world. Our country is most famous for the proverb of unity in diversity. It faces many incidents testing its secularism, however the Indian people are always ready to respond with their unity.

Best speech

It is because of the hard struggles of our forefathers that we are now able to enjoy freedom and breathe fresh air as per our wish. Getting freedom from the British was really an impossible task which our forefathers accomplished with their continuous efforts. We can never forget his deeds and will always remember him through history. We cannot remember all the works of all the freedom fighters in a single day but at least we can salute them wholeheartedly. He will remain in our memories for the rest of our lives and will continue to be an inspiration to us.

Today is a very important day for all Indians which we celebrate by remembering the sacrifices of the great Indian leaders who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and prosperity of the country. India’s independence was possible because of the cooperation, sacrifice and participation of all Indians. We should value and salute all the Indian citizens as they are the real national heroes. We should have faith in secularism to maintain unity and never separate so that no one can rule again by breaking.

Let us take an oath today to be highly responsible and well-educated citizens of the future India. We should perform our duty honestly and work hard to achieve the goal and lead this democratic nation successfully.

Jai Hind.

The moment at that time was incredibly delicate, and it is hard to fathom its magnitude. Our forefathers’ valuable hard work and sacrifices leave us with no way to reciprocate. Yet, we can honor their memory and contributions wholeheartedly during national events, keeping them in our hearts always. India’s independence brought newfound happiness to all Indian citizens, giving the nation a new birth.

India got independence from the clutches of British rule on 15 August 1947. Indian people all over the country celebrate this national festival with great joy and enthusiasm every year. It was a great day for all Indian citizens when the tricolor flag of India was hoisted by the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru at the Red Fort in Delhi.

Every year, the Prime Minister hoists the flag at Rajpath in New Delhi during a grand celebration, where people sing the national anthem. Additionally, the firing of 21 cannons and the showering of flowers by helicopters accompany the salute to the national flag. Independence Day is a national holiday, however everyone celebrates it from their respective places by hoisting flags in schools, offices or society. We should feel proud to be an Indian and do everything possible to save the honor of our country.

Long Speech on 15th August

Best speech Independence day of India 2023

Honorable Guests, Senior Managers, Managers, other staff members and my dear friends – Hearty greetings to all of you!

I feel extremely happy to stand before you and host this refreshing day on the eve of Independence Day. We Indian understand very well the importance of Independence Day and we should be very proud that we have finally got back our freedom from the shackles of British rule. When I see my national flag fluttering high in the air, I feel immense happiness which cannot be expressed in words.

I am sure you can relate to my sentiments. It is needless to say that we celebrate Independence Day every year on 15th August, and in the year 1947, India emerged as an independent nation. As it holds great historical significance for all Indians, the government declares it a national holiday in India, and we all celebrate Independence Day with great fervor and showmanship.

That’s a brief about Independence Day, but does anyone here know about the era of the British Raj? Well, let me tell you all that between 1858 and 1947, the British had made our Indian subcontinent their colony. This period is called the British Raj period.

Now it has become even more interesting to know how the British colonial rule started in our country. When the East India Company reached India, they conspired to take away the goods and land of Indian citizens, and Queen Victoria declared it all as the property of the monarchy.

The East India Company was established in 1600 under a Royal Charter during the reign of Elizabeth I. Although apparently its main purpose was trade, it eventually became a formidable colonial power controlling much of our Indian subcontinent. During that time the people living in the Indian subcontinent became subject to British colonial rule under Queen Victoria and other monarchs who followed her.

I am sure we all can guess that achieving independence in such a challenging situation was not an easy task but required long and persistent efforts. One of the most prominent personalities who mainly contributed in achieving independence was Mahatma Gandhi or as we commonly address him as Bapu.

Best speech Independence day of India 2023

What makes him an even greater personality is that he achieved independence not by following the path of violence or bloodshed, but through his policy of non-violence, in which he did not oppose the British rule through armed fighting, rather he started non-violence campaigns with his followers that included hunger strikes and civil disobedience. His concerted efforts finally brought an end to the British Raj in our country. The British rule was given an official garb in the name of “British Administration of India” and Indians had to go through a lot of pain and trauma under that guise.

We should salute those brave souls and pay our respects to them by remembering their heroic deeds and sacrifices for our motherland and never forget that it is because of their efforts that we are today standing and breathing in independent India.

However, long before India’s independence, our country sowed the seeds of self-government. In the 19th century, the British appointed Indian councilors for advisory roles to the ruling British Viceroy in India. In 1892, the Indian Councils Act was established to empower these councilors and other Indian officers. However, they still faced prejudices and were under British authority to succeed.

The Treaty of Indian Sovereignty was signed somewhat between midnight on 14 August 1947 and daybreak on 15 August 1947. This was the time when George VI was ruling Britain as the king and Clement Attlee was his prime minister. In India, Jawaharlal Nehru became the Prime Minister of independent India and Britain relinquished its rule over India. The British now had nothing to do with Indian affairs.

Even though we are not the witnesses of that time, we can very well understand the intensity of that decisive time when our country truly got freedom. We can’t help but feel proud of it. However, the declaration of independence came in writing in the year 1929, which is a long time ago. The announcement coincided with the great freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi and other known personalities who unfurled the Indian flag.

It was indeed a big moment for all Indians. The day of declaration of Indian independence is called Poorna Swaraj. It is important to understand that even though India gained independence in the year 1947, the official constitution of India as an independent nation came into force in the 1950s. The period in between was a transition phase in the form of 3 intermediate years.
